Kindness is a skill — and like all skills, it grows with practice. The stories and printables below give children gentle examples of kindness in action, plus simple ways to live them out at home, in nursery and at school.
Best for ages: 2–7 years
Kindness stories give children a clear, repeatable picture of what kind behaviour looks and feels like. Seeing a character choose kindness — and feel good about it — is one of the most effective ways to model it.
Through small, repeated moments: noticing kindness out loud ("That was so kind of you"), reading kindness stories together, modelling it yourself, and giving toddlers low-stakes chances to share, help and include.
